Florida Student Charlie Rothkopf Asks For Prayers For Hero Coach Aaron Feis

A student at the Parkland, Florida public high school where a former student killed at least 17 people on Wednesday published a tweet that evening asking for prayers for his coach.

“Can everyone please take a second to pray for my coach today he took serval bullets covering other students at Douglas,” Charlie Rothkopf tweeted.

The coach appears to be Aaron Feis, who shielded students with his body from a barrage of bullets, according to CNN. Feis died from his wounds.

“He died the same way he lived — he put himself second,” Denise Lehtio, a spokeswoman for the school, said. “He was a very kind soul, a very nice man. He died a hero.”
