Ben Shapiro’s Website May Buy Glenn Beck’s Website

The owners of the Ben Shapiro-helmed conservative news website The Daily Wire are in talks to buy Glenn Beck’s conservative news website The Blaze, according to a report in The Daily Beast.

Shapiro’s site is owned by the Wilks family, conservative Texan billionaires who made their fortune in fracking. Beck’s outlets have struggled in recent years, as Beck’s own profile has dimmed.

“TheBlaze welcomed us to the space as allies from the beginning, and we’re always looking for ways to strengthen our partnerships with our allies,” Shapiro told The Daily Beast.

Shapiro, who defected from the conservative mega-site Breitbart in 2016, is a leading anti-Trump conservative. The Wilks family backed Ted Cruz in the 2016 Republican primaries.

Beck was a prominent conservative commentator during the Obama presidency, working as a highly-rated Fox News host at the peak of his influence. The Blaze suffered mass layoffs late last year.
