Man Caught On Security Cam Posting KKK Recruitment Fliers

A man was caught on camera posting recruitment fliers for the Klu Klux Klan in downtown Lafayette, Indiana, the Journal & Courier reported. Footage from a security camera shows him walking through freezing rain on the night of January 12 to drop the fliers on the dooresteps of businesses on Main Street.

The man made sure to put the pamphlets inside sealable plastic bags to avoid water damage. They advertised several area white supremacist groups, and had the title “Why You Should Become a Klansman.”

“When I brought it in, I thought, ‘Good grief,’” said Denise Bootsma, owner of a candle store in downtown Lafayette. “I think he was pretty cowardly, just dropping these off. We get fliers and poster and pamphlets all the time from people. But they come in and hand them to us. … Just spineless to do it when no one is around, like that.”

Lafayette police investigating the fliers have contacted the FBI. They say they have no leads in the investigation.
