Bannon Responds To Trump’s Rebuke By Calling Him A ‘Great Man’

Steve Bannon called President Donald Trump “a great man” late Wednesday night, the Washington Post reported. The comments came on the heels of a stinging statement issued by Trump about Bannon, the former White House Chief Strategist.

In a new book from media journalist Michael Wolff, “Fire and Fury,” Bannon is quoted making denigrating comments about Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and his son Don, Jr. Bannon reportedly called Ivanka “dumb as a brick,” and suggested that Don, Jr., would “crack… like an egg on national television” over his involvement in the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia.

In response, Trump issued a scathing statement saying, “When [Bannon] was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”

On Wednesday night, during an interview on Breitbart’s Sirius XM radio station, Bannon declined to fire back at Trump.

“The president is a great man,” Bannon said in response to a question about public break between him and Trump. “You know I support him day in and day out.”
