Republican Jews Fundraising Off Trump’s Jerusalem Recognition

Jewish Republicans are celebrating President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and want to show Trump their appreciation.

“We’re thanking President Trump for declaring Jerusalem the eternal capital of Israel and starting plans to move the embassy to Jerusalem,” read an email sent to RJC supporters, urging them to sign an online thank you card addressed to Trump.

And while supporters are already on the page and excited about thanking Trump, they’re invited also to show their monetary support for the RJC. “Contribute any amount to stand with President Trump,” the page urges Jewish Republicans, offering them to make donations ranging from $18 to $500.

Christians United for Israel, a pro-Israel evangelical group that urged Trump to take the move, also made its own victory lap, with a full-page ad in the Washington Post, and an email blast thanking the president. “Together let’s keep working hard to win victories for Israel and the Jewish people,” Christians United for Israel told its supporters.
