Long Island Jewish School Evacuated After Bomb Threat

A Jewish high school in Long Island was evacuated on Wednesday after receiving a bomb threat.
The Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, a Modern Orthodox school, received a threatening message by fax, leading them to dismiss the high school and evacuate students away from the premises.
Executive director Reuben Maron told the Forward that the school is “taking precautions.” The police were quickly summoned and bomb-sniffing dogs went through the premises. Middle school and elementary school students were not evacuated from their separate buildings.
The school expects to resume normal operations tomorrow, Maron said.
Maron said that nothing in the letter indicated who its sender was, but police are investigating.
