‘No To Jewish Lies’ Flyers Posted At Cornell University

Posters with swastikas and anti-Semitic messages were posted overnight at several locations at Cornell University, one of the most prestigious universities in the country.

The posters proclaimed “Just say no to Jewish lies!” and showed a snake encircling the world. They also told people to “Join the White Gang!” and promoted a group called the “Solar Cross Society,” which has a swastika logo.

There are no mentions of the Solar Cross Society on the internet.

University president Martha E. Pollack condemned the fliers. “Whoever is responsible for these fliers is hiding under the cover of anonymity, having posted them overnight,” she wrote in an statement on Monday. “Whoever they are, they need to ask themselves why they chose our campus, because Cornell reviles their message of hatred; we revile it as an institution, and I know from many personal conversations that thousands of Cornellians deplore it individually.”

As the Cornell Daily Sun noted, a series of racist events have occurred on campus this semester.

Approximately 3,000 Jewish undergraduate students attend Cornell, comprising 21% of the overall student body, according to the Forward College Guide. Last month, the university officially opened the Cornell Tech campus in New York City, which includes a joint venture with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
