Football Star Julian Edelman Will Read Children’s Book At JCC
Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots wide receiver, has been benched for the rest of the football season due to an injury but that’s not stopping him from inspiring children with his new story-book.
Edelman is set to read from his new children’s book, “Flying High,” on Tuesday to a group of kids at the Newton, Massachusetts Jewish community center. “Flying High” is a semi-autobiographical story about Edelman’s life – instead following the adventures of the football playing squirrel Jules.
Edelman, 31, was born to a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother – and is said to have connected with Judaism during a trip to Israel two years ago. The Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, is also an active supporter of Jewish and Israel-related causes.
