Ivanka Praised Dreamer In 2015 Tweet. That’s Awkward Now.

Back in 2015, a tweet from Ivanka Trump praising an undocumented immigrant seemed perfectly inocuous.

“We love this story about an undocumented immigrant who worked her way up on Wall Street,” she tweeted, two years before becoming the first daughter and adviser to the president.

But after President Trump pulled the plug on DACA, Dreamers, such as Julissa Arce featured in the article Ivanka tweeted, are at risk of deportation,

Twitter was there to point out what some as Ivanka’s hypocrisy.

Newsweek has a roundup of of select Twitter responses to Ivanka on Tuesday. One user wrote: “amazing how your attitudes change. Got to pander to your racist base. Guess she will be deported now…sad.‬” And another tweeted: “Your tweet would work today if you added: “we got her name and we’re deporting her now.”

Ivanka Trump was also slammed from the right. Ann Coulter, referring to a vigil of DACA supporters outside the Washington home of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump tweeted: “Invite them in, Ivanka! Or are they only good enough for other Americans’ neighborhoods?”
