Subway Rider Spotted Wearing Swastika Necklace

Craig Lenti, of Astoria, Queens, was riding the subway last week when he thought he saw a swastika necklace around one man’s neck. He double- and then triple-checked the man’s pendant: Yes, it was a real swastika necklace.
“I was disgusted, but I couldn’t believe what I saw, so I walked back and forth past him a couple of times to make sure that’s what it was and then started snapping pictures,” Lenti told the New York Post.
Lenti posted the picture to Instagram with the hashtags #whitesupremacy and #whereisindianajoneswhenyouneedhim. He said he took the photographs to bring New Yorkers attention to the bigotry that can live in a largely liberal city.
“As New Yorkers, we get complacent and think that it doesn’t happen here,” he said. “But it does happen here, and we have to look out for it.”
