Ivanka Trump Praises Boston Counter Demonstrators In Tweet

(JTA) — Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President Donald Trump, in a tweet praised the thousands of counter demonstrators who marched in Boston in response to a conservative free speech rally.

An estimated 15,000 counter demonstrators on Saturday in Boston surrounded a small group of conservatives who marched for free speech a week after a white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Virginia, turned violent. The conservative march disbanded after about an hour and the demonstrators were escorted away by police.

1:2 It was beautiful to see thousands of people across the U.S.A come together today to peacefully denounce bigotry, racism & anti-semitism.

Her tweet came several hours after her father tweeted from his personal Twitter account: “I want to applaud the many protestors in Boston who are speaking out against bigotry and hate. Our country will soon come together as one!”

The Boston Free Speech Coalition, which organized the event, said it has nothing to do with white nationalism or racism.
