Israeli Cabinet Orders Nuclear Scientists To End Their Strike

The Israeli Cabinet passed a measure on Sunday to force scientists at the top-secret nuclear facility in Dimona to end their strike.
During the labor action, which began in February, scientists have operated slowly, refused to grant safety licenses and even stopped operating necessary machinery, The Times of Israel reported.
The slowdown had been a negotiating tactic to achieve better terms in the scientists’ collective bargaining agreement, Haaretz reported.
Under the new ordinance, scientists who don’t get back to full working capacity and serve “the state’s essential interests” could be fired, or have their salaries cut but be forbidden from resigning.
