Mega-Lawyer Lisa Bloom Repping Clients Accusing Usher Of Giving Them Herpes
Mega-lawyer Lisa Bloom held a press conference on Monday with a woman accusing the rap star Usher of having exposed her to genital herpes without fair warning.
With Bloom standing next to her, Quantasia Sharpton said that Usher picked her out of a crowd at a concert to proposition her for sex. She said that Usher did not tell her about any sexually transmitted diseases that he had, despite media reports that he may have genital herpes.
Bloom, who said she was representing two other people in a suit against Usher, admitted that she did not know whether Usher had herpes. But said that she hoped a court process would figure that out.
“We hope that he has not knowingly endangered his sex partners,” she said. “No one in America, not even a popular celebrity, is above the law. And everyone, even ordinary people who find themselves swept away by a super star, has a legal right to be respected.”
Bloom, like her mother Gloria Allred, has made a name representing women accusing powerful men of sexual abuse. The mother-daughter attorney duo have also taken up sexual harassment and assault civil cases against President Trump.
