Trump Slams Debbie Wasserman Schultz Over Arrest Of Office Tech Worker
President Trump devoted one of his morning tweets Thursday to an issue brewing in right-wing news outlets.
“ABC, NBC, And CBS Pretty Much Bury IT Scandal Engulfing Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Office,” the president re-tweeted, linking to an article from the conservative website Townhall
The article, and Trump’s tweet, lamented what they believe is a liberal media cover-up of the arrest of a Capitol Hill information technology staffer who worked for Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz and who is now charged with bank fraud. The aide, Imran Awan, his wife, and other family members, had worked for several Democratic lawmakers, providing them with computer services. Awan was nabbed at Dulles Airport before boarding a flight to his native Pakistan. Wasserman Schultz fired Awan from her staff this week.
The major networks, Townhall argued in the article tweeted by Trump, “have virtually buried this story, preventing the millions of viewers that tune into these respective networks from learning about it.”
