Ben Shapiro Will Testify On Campus Free Speech To Congress
When Ben Shapiro gives a speech on a college campus, the right-wing pundit is often met with a hostile reception – demonstrations and disruptions. He’s griped about it before, and later this month, he will fill in some members of Congress on a topic dear to the heart of many conservatives: free speech at universities.
Shapiro, the editor of the Daily Wire, will testify on July 27 before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He will be accompanied by Adam Carolla, who is currently producing a documentary called “No Safe Spaces,” which refers to the concept of safe spaces for racial, sexual and gender minorities.
The right-wing pundit has focused much of his energy on U.C. Berkeley, the left-wing bastion where violent demonstrators attempted to stop a speech by provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos and where those same protesters led to the security-related cancellation of an appearance by Ann Coulter. Shapiro himself is scheduled to give a speech at Berkeley this September.
