‘Hebrew Priestess’ Roseanne Barr Is ‘Riding Trumpian Wave’ With Reboot Of Her Show

In May, ABC confirmed that Roseanne, the 1990s TV comedy, would be rebooted.

The show, which starred a working-class and white family, seems perfectly fit for the political moment.

“Roseanne Barr, the groundbreaking female comic behind the sitcom, seems to be well aware that her reboot is riding a Trumpian wave,” the Daily Beast’s Amy Zimmerman wrote.

“I never thought in a million years we’d be back,” Barr told the New York Post, “As soon as I saw the election results, I knew we’d be back.”

Bar, who is from a Jewish family but grew up attending the Church of the Latter Day Saints, has been on a meandering and sometimes surprising journey into politics.

Barr also has a penchant for esoteric practices. She calls herself a “Hebrew priestess” and has also been involved in the transformative power of Buddhist and “kabbalistic meditation” for years.

Over the last two years, she has revealed she be a Trump supporter — “or at the very least, dealing in some of the conspiracy theories and hateful rhetoric that facilitated his rise to power,” Zimmerman wrote. These days, Barr shares Infowars articles and Alex Jones videos and retweets The Gateway Pundit and Milo Yiannopoulos’ website.

Barr has dabbled in politics and religion over the course of her career.

In 2011 Barr announced she would be running a two-for-one campaign — seeking the offices of both President of the United States and Prime Minister of Israel.
