Journalist’s Glasses Broken By Raging Politician Displayed In News Museum

The glasses of Jewish journalist Ben Jacobs, who was body-slammed by U.S. Representative Greg Gianforte, are being put on display tomorrow in the Newseum, in Washington, D.C.
Jacobs was attempting to ask Gianforte a question in the days leading up to his election when the then-candidate slammed Jacobs to the ground, injuring him and breaking his glasses. Gianforte won the election by six points, and was sworn into office yesterday.
The Newseum will also be displaying the notebook of journalist David Farenthold, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on Donald Trump’s philanthropic activity (er, lack thereof).
“These artifacts may appear unassuming, but they tell powerful stories about freedom of the press in the United States,” a press release from the Newseum said.
