Democrats Step Up Push To Revoke Jared Kushner’s Security Clearance

While Jared Kushner was busy brokering peace in the Middle East, congressional Democrats were at work trying to get him away from top-secret intelligence briefings and materials, at least until he is cleared by the FBI and by the special counsel looking into his ties with Russia.
In a letter to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, 18 Democrats from the House Oversight Committee say they have “serious concerns about whether the White House is properly safeguarding classified information.” The Democrats claim that since Kushner is a “person of interest” in the investigations into Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, and after knowing that he did not disclose meetings he held with Russian officials, he should not be privy to America’s top secret information.
“It is unclear why Mr. Kushner continues to have access to classified information while these allegations are being investigated,” the letter states.
The White House did not respond to the House Democrats’ request to suspend or revoke Kushner’s security clearance.
