Jill Stein Won’t Apologize For Green Party Presidential Bid
Jill Stein has no regrets even as many accuse the Green Party candidate of having been a spoiler last November for Hillary Clinton.
“I consider it a great honor that the party and our prior campaign for president is suddenly being attacked outside of an election season,” she told Politico, reflecting on the controversy.
“There are differences between Clinton and Trump, no doubt, but they’re not different enough to save your life, to save your job, to save the planet,” she added.
Stein ran to the left of Clinton in the November contest. In Michigan and Wisconsin, her share of the vote was greater than the gap separating Clinton from Trump, who carried both states.
According to Politico, Stein also dismissed claims that Russian interference doomed the Clinton campaign, blasting the argument as amounting to no more than “pathetic excuses.”
She vowed to continue building the Green Party, which has struggled to gain mainstream traction. “We deserve more than two lethal choices,” she said, referring to the Democrats and Republicans.
