Ahamed Weinberg Is Having A Wild And Crazy Ramadan
Ahamed Weinberg is aware that his name might leave you a bit confused. But rather than wallow in the confusion, he does the opposite: he tells jokes about it.
The L.A.-based comedian, the son of a Catholic mother and Jewish father who both converted to Sufi Islam, has kept a Ramadan diary for the last three years, detailing the daily ups and downs of the Muslim holiday that restricts all eating and drinking to before sunrise and after sunset. His observations get hazy as the days of fasting do—“Currently trying to write a tweet about someone named Phil Harmonic,” June 24, 2015—but are often hilarious.
This Ramadan, some of his daily blogs have been released as short sketches via Comedy Central. Watch the intro below:
