Hannity Demands Rosenstein’s Scalp In Trump Probe — Wants Mueller Out Too

After the heat turned up on President Trump following a report that he was being investigated for obstruction of justice, Sean Hannity called for the ouster of special counsel Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who hired Mueller.

“Mueller and Rod Rosenstein? Recuse themselves, resign immediately,” the Fox News personality said on his Wednesday night program, alleging conflicts of interest. “Mueller and Comey have been close friends for a long time.”

He added, “Comey admitted he leaked the memo to The New York Times, to the press, hoping it would bring about a special counsel which, by the way, turned out to be his best buddy, his BFF Robert Mueller.”

Mueller and Comey are former associates, having worked closely together while Comey was deputy attorney general and Mueller was FBI Director under former President George W. Bush. It’s possible that Rosenstein ordered the obstruction probe before Mueller’s appointment in May.

Hannity has emerged as an unapologetic cheerleader for the White House, and has been eager to ease pressure on the administration over the Russia investigation. That effort has included spreading conspiracy theories about the death of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.
