Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens Facing Calls For Corruption Investigation

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, the only Jewish governor in the nation, was elected on a platform of clean government and transparency. But he can’t seem to shake critics’ claims that his own handling of campaign funds and donations wasn’t totally above-board.
A bipartisan group of six state senators is now trying to push for an investigation into Greitens’ use of a donor list from an organization that he did not list on his campaign report, as well as a probe into a anonymously-funded nonprofit organization that Greitens’ political allies set up to advance his political agenda. The resolution was brought up during a special session of the Missouri legislature convened by Greitens, who was only inaugurated in January.
A spokesman for Greitens called the move a “temper tantrum from career politicians” and said it is just “more evidence that Governor Greitens is an outsider who is doing what he said he would do: taking on politicians in both parties to get results. When career politicians are whining, Missourians are winning.”
