Bernie Sanders Mocks GOP For Secret Health Care Bill

Senate Democrats are furious at the news that the GOP will decline to release the details of their health care bill, which they hope to pass before the July 4th recess. Senator Chuck Schumer suggested that the Republicans were “ashamed” of the bill; “We have no idea what’s being proposed,” said Senator Claire McCaskill. “There’s a group of guys in a backroom somewhere that are making these decisions.”

Speaking with Axios, one GOP senior aide explained the reticence as the obvious choice. “We aren’t stupid,” the aide is reported to have said.

But perhaps the best response to the secret bill so far has come from Senator Bernie Sanders, who tweeted out this picture yesterday:

For now, the actual details of the bill will remain in secret, at least until the Congressional Budget Office is sent a draft. In the meantime, Bloomberg reports that nearly half of the $2 billion pledged on GoFundMe in 2016-2017 was towards individual healthcare.
