Trump Wingman Michael Cohen Called In For Damage Control

President Trump summoned attorney and confidant Michael Cohen to the White House to discuss strategy as the investigation into ties between his campaign and Russia escalated with the appointment of a special counsel.

According to Politico, Cohen arrived from New York on Thursday night to meet with Trump and White House counsel Donald McGahn.

The group was discussing how to contain the damage in a week that has seen the ouster of FBI director James Comey and revelations that Trump revealed classified information to Russia in a sit-down Oval Office meeting.

Cohen might not be the right person to cool down Trump – the real estate attorney has a notoriously fiery temper himself.

He turned in combative appearances on cable news over the summer when Trump was flagging in the polls. Cohen also encouraged violent threats against former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. He also tweeted photos of his daughter in lingerie this week.

But as troubles mount, Trump is turning to his closest associates – and Cohen remains in the inner circle.
