Joe Lieberman Interviewed For FBI Director Post

Joe Lieberman is Mr. Bipartisan – Al Gore’s Democratic vice presidential nominee, Connecticut’s Independent senator, almost Republican Jon McCain’s vice presidential nominee.

Now, President Trump will interview the bipartisan politico and observant Jew to be the next FBI director, along with three other candidates: former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating, acting director Andrew McCabe and ex-FBi brass Richard McFeeley.

After Trump’s firing of James Comey, administration critics have clamored for an impartial leader at the agency, which is handling the inquiry into links between the president’s campaign and Russia.

Lieberman would fit the bill, thanks to his hybrid political history. Since leaving Capitol Hill, the ex-senator has maintained that bipartisan commitment, starting the problem-solving group No Labels with former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman.

Lieberman also brings an added benefit – he’s friends with the White House’s ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, and education secretary, Betsy DeVos, attending the confirmation hearings of both.
