Adelson Cuts Off Cash To Trump Over ‘Chaos’ — And Jerusalem Embassy Flip-Flop
Casino mogul and Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson is angry at “chaos” in the Trump White House — and has refused to provide any more funds to groups backing the president since he took office, Politico reported Monday.
Adelson is reportedly upset that Trump, despite his campaign promises, has thus far failed to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, three sources told Politico. People that Adelson suggested for White House jobs are yet to be hired, adding to his frustration.
“More fundamentally,” wrote reporter Alex Isenstadt, “Adelson is dismayed by what he sees as a state of chaos in the new administration.”
Adelson spokesman Andy Abboud told the publication that his boss is “overall not angry or unhappy” with Trump, is satisfied with some of Trump’s recent moves, and is waiting patiently for movement on the embassy front.
Adelson gave tens of millions of dollars for President Trump’s campaign and $5 million more for his inauguration.
