Jews Will Join Black Lives Matter March MLK Assassination Anniversary

Activists with the Jewish group Jews for Racial & Economic Justice plan to join a Black Lives Matter march in New York City on Tuesday, protesting the city’s handling of a fatal 2012 police shooting.
The march, organized by a New York-area Black Lives Matter group, demands accountability for police officers involved in the killing of of Bronx teen Ramarley Graham by an NYPD officer.r It coincides with the 49th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Jews for Racial & Economic Justice will stand with Ramarley’s family, other families of those killed by the police, the Justice Committee and Black Lives Matter-NY to commemorate the death of Martin Luther King Jr. by demanding that the Mayor and the NYPD commissioner fire all of the officers involved in Ramarley’s killing,” the group said in a Facebook post.
Graham was shot by NYPD officers in his bathroom in the Bronx in 2012. The officer who pulled the trigger, Richard Haste, resigned from the NYPD last month. Two other officers are awaiting departmental trials.
The march is scheduled for Tuesday evening in Bryant Park.
