WATCH: Al Franken Slams ‘Racist’ Trump — Says Republicans Worried About His Mental State

Al Franken spent the weekend clapping back at President Donald Trump, speculating about the new leader’s mental health and faulting him for a racially-charged insult directed at Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

“Mr. President, with all due respect, that’s racist. Please stop doing that. I am on Indian Affairs. This is completely unacceptable. You really should stop doing this, it doesn’t serve anybody,” he said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday program, reacting to the president’s “Pocahontas” jibe at a Thursday gathering of senators at which Franken was not in attendance. Warren came under fire when she first ran for the Senate five years ago over claims about her Native American ancestry.

The Minnesota senator also criticized Trump on Friday night, telling Bill Maher on “Real Time” that a few Republican senators have openly wondered whether the president is sane. “He lies a lot, he says things that aren’t true,” he said, explaining why some of his Republican colleagues apparently doubted the soundness of Trump’s mental health.
