Lena Dunham Blames Weight Loss on Trump-Induced Trauma
Lena Dunham says it’s not an exercise regimen or the paleo diet that’s helped her lose weight. Instead the actress blames the trauma of President Trump for stopping her from eating.
“Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight,’” the creator of “Girls” told Howard Stern on his satellite radio program. She added that a Trump win seemed like an “impossible joke” that “would never happen.”
Dunham has not been handling Trump’s victory well, reneging on a pre-election vow to move to Canada, comparing the new president to a reviled father and making off-the-cuff remarks about abortion that upset those on both right and left. She was a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter during the campaign, fundraising and stumping for the former secretary of state.
