Bernie Sanders Calls Trump a ‘Good Showman’ — and a Hypocritical ‘Fraud’

Bernie Sanders grudgingly praised President Trump as a telegenic “showman” on Sunday — but slammed him as a con artist who is selling out working class voters who helped him win election.
“I don’t mean to be disrespectful (but) this guy is a fraud,” Sanders told host Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Sanders, who ran a strong race to become the first Jewish major party candidate, blasted Trump for appointing a cabinet of billionaires even after he claimed he would stand up for the little guy.
The Democrat who battled Hillary Clinton for the nomination singled out Steve Mnuchin, the Goldman Sachs exed whom Trump has nominated to be Treasury Secretary.
The Vermont senator said Trump was a hypocrite for campaigning on promises not to cut benefits programs and “appoint(ing) all of these guys who are precisely going to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.”
Despite ripping the president, the rumpled Sanders gave Trump credit for winning support from average Americans.
“Man this guy, he’s a good showman, I”ll give him that,” he said. “He’s a good TV guy.”
