White House Insiders ‘Astonished’ by Influence of Trump-Whisperer Stephen Miller
The White House influence of Stephen Miller and his ally Steve Bannon has “astonished” insiders, according to an unsourced report in Washington journalist Mike Allen’s morning newsletter Axios AM.
Miller, who is Jewish, wrote President Donald Trump’s inaugural speech with Bannon, according to Allen’s report. The speech revived Trump’s use of the phrase “America First,” which many Jewish groups decried for its anti-Semitic historical resonance.
Allen also reported that Miller and Bannon had written “many” of the executive orders Trump signed this week, and that they “egged on” Trump in his verbal attacks on Mexico and the media.
Miller, a popular pro-Trump speaker on the campaign trail, is a former aide to Senator Jeff Sessions, Trump’s nominee for Attorney General.
