June 25: Manhattan: Screening Of ‘To A More Perfect Union: U.S. v Windsor’
The Forward is excited to co-present a screening of “To A More Perfect Union: U.S. v Windsor,” a documentary exploring the history of the Gay Rights and Marriage Equality movement in the country, from the perspective of Edie Windsor and her attorney, Roberta Kaplan.
Following the film, Forward writer-at-large Jane Eisner will interview Kaplan about the landmark civil rights case. Kaplan will also discuss her current case, in which she has teamed up with the non-partisan non-profit Integrity First for America to sue the neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hate groups responsible for the August 2017 violence in Charlottesville.
The event will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 at the Marlene Meyerson JCC in Manhattan.
