Israel Lawmakers Vow To Fight Jonathan Pollard Parole Restrictions
The head of the Israeli parliament caucus dedicated to Jonathan Pollard promised to fight restrictions on the freed spy’s movements.
“Jonathan, the caucus will not cease its activity until we remove the limitations imposed on you upon your release,” lawmaker Nahman Shai wrote in a letter to Pollard on Friday, according to the Times of Israel. “We continue to demand the removal of any restriction on your freedom of movement, communication or other violation of your rights.”
Pollard was freed from a federal penitentiary on Friday after serving 30 years in prison for passing military secrets to Israel. As a condition of his parole, Pollard is barred from leaving the United States for up to five years.
